VA Hospital West Palm Beach Aerial Drone Photo

My close proximity to the VA Hospital has inadvertently turned it into my personal testing ground for evaluating the photographic capabilities of new drones. While I sincerely apologize to the VA Hospital staff and patients for repeatedly using their building as a subject, I hope they can appreciate the stunning aerial perspectives I capture. I’m always happy to share the high-resolution images with the hospital should they ever have a need for them.

This time, my aerial canvas was graced by the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, a drone that first took flight in 2018. Upon its release, DJI proudly proclaimed its collaboration with Hasselblad, the legendary camera manufacturer, resulting in a drone that promised professional-level image quality and color science. Considering the rapid pace of technological advancement, I was curious to see how the Mavic 2 Pro would hold up against more modern drones.

After a series of flights and careful examination of the resulting photographs, I’m delighted to report that the Mavic 2 Pro still delivers exceptional performance. Its Hasselblad lens captures remarkable detail and clarity, while the color science produces vibrant and true-to-life hues. Even when compared to drones released in the past few years, the Mavic 2 Pro’s image quality remains remarkably competitive. This serves as a powerful reminder that innovation doesn’t always equate to outright superiority, and that well-engineered technology can stand the test of time.
